Green Bay District 1
A Voice For All Residents
As your Alder, I have been so grateful for this experience. From the day I was sworn in, I have been dedicated to working with you and for you. As a lifelong resident, I know and understand our unique city and why it’s so important to all of us. With the current economic environment, I know how valuable responsible city spending is and made sure to apply that when it came to our budget. I spent a lot of time working with city staff, neighborhood associations and fellow alders, working together so we can work smarter. Over the last 2 years, I am proud to have served with my fellow alders. I can confidently say we had healthy discussions, asked good questions before making decisions, ensuring they were what was best for our city. On April 2nd, I would be humbled for you to GRANT me your vote!

A Voice For All
- In office treated all Alders with respect, remained level-headed while keeping common sense at the forefront.
- When informed of the lack of previous council approval and any clear legal standing on the audio recordings taking place in the hallways of City Hall, I resolutely supported the decision to stop audio surveillance, respecting and protecting our residents and visitors.
- Keeping outside influences out of our city’s elections, voted “yes” to prohibit outside funds/assistance with our elections without full council approval with the exceptions to fund poll workers, polling locations and PPE.
- Routinely attended neighborhood meetings and events.
- Very responsive to resident concerns.
VOTE
Jennifer Grant
- Secured $1 million of ARPA funding; allocated to a new fire station, replacing our two oldest stations.
- Utilized speed boards to deter speeding, shared results with district.
- Held crime prevention meeting with GBPD, presenting ways to prevent crime and protect property.
- Worked with staff to draft an ordinance and helped get a 2nd ordinance brought forward to prevent and deter human trafficking.
- Took Action and utilized our police decoy car and Eagle Eye surveillance after experiencing some vandalism in a park within my district.
2023 Budget
I voted “no” to the budget. Out of respect for the economic struggles people are facing and the recent reassessment, allowing reduced spending without cutting services.
We were able to decrease the proposed budget by $1.8 million while still allowing pay increases for our city staff and significantly increased our seasonal staff wages to ensure our parks and recreational facilities remain open.
2024 Budget
In order to retain and recruit employees, I voted “yes” to a 3% raise for the second year in a row, using state surplus dollars.
After hours of great discussion, we unanimously agreed to a budget, something that rarely happens.
Assisted in the formation of the GB Metro Fire Department Foundation for needed safety equipment with hopes of reducing future bonding. Together Alder Eck and I secured the first donation from a local business.
- Sand infield at Red Smith Park and added pickleball lines. Coming summer of ’24!
- Partnered with our Conservation Corps in organizing a National Make a Difference Day, in ‘22 & ‘23, cleaning up invasive species in the Red Smith Park woods.
- Worked with Mahon Creek Neighborhood Assoc. and our parks dept., starting the process for a future park in their neighborhood.
I would be humbled for you to GRANT me your support!
